Who we are
Veterans Hill Elementary PTA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) parent teacher association serving 658 students and their families at Veterans Hill Elementary in Hutto, Texas. Our campus is 48.6% Hispanic and 43% economically disadvantaged, so bilingual access isn’t an add-on for us — every flyer, newsletter, event, and receipt goes out in English and Spanish, because a program families can’t read isn’t a program. We operate on a very small budget by design. We lead with donations, discounts, and in-kind support rather than spending, and we publish where every dollar goes. Our aim is a PTA that is transparent enough to be trusted, inclusive enough to reach every family, and simple enough that next year’s volunteers can pick it up and keep it running.
What we do
Teacher & Staff Support
We keep the staff lounge stocked, provide appreciation meals through the year, and fund classroom grants for supplies teachers would otherwise buy themselves. Nearly all of it comes from donated and discounted goods rather than purchased inventory.
Free Bilingual Family Events
We run free, open-to-all community events — an annual block party, family reading and math nights, and campus celebrations — with no admission charge, staffed by volunteers, and delivered in both English and Spanish.
Student & Family Support
We maintain a small discretionary fund to help students whose families are going through a difficult stretch — a field trip fee, supplies, a pair of shoes — handled quietly, quickly, and without an application process.
Bilingual Communication & Transparency
Every family-facing communication goes out in English and Spanish, and we publish a plain-language accounting of where PTA money goes.
Our organization
Veterans Hill Elementary PTA is Local Unit #2265467 of PTA Texas Congress (Texas PTA), EIN 47-3952316, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the Texas PTA group exemption. This website, vhe-pta.org, is the official site of that local unit. We are an independent nonprofit with our own board, legally and financially separate from Veterans Hill Elementary and Hutto ISD. We are nonpartisan and non-sectarian, and we serve all students and families without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.
